Hi @Drebaby23,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that the Wi-Fi light on your HP printer is blue; the printer is likely already connected to a wireless network. In that case, your iPhone will not usually see the printer as a Wi-Fi network to join directly. For printing from an iPhone, the phone and printer typically need to be on the same Wi‑Fi network. If you want a direct connection, the printer must have Wi‑Fi Direct turned on.

What to do

  • Make sure your iPhone is connected to your home/office Wi‑Fi network.

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to that same network.

  • If you want to connect directly to the printer instead of your router network, turn on Wi‑Fi Direct on the printer.

  • Stay close to the printer/router during setup.

If the printer does not appear

  • Wake the printer if it is in sleep mode.

  • Confirm the wireless connection is active on the printer.

  • Check whether your router is using 2.4 GHz, since some HP printers do not support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

  • If using a direct connection method, keep the connection active until setup/printing is complete.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
