As of today Google Play store is saying that HP Smart App is not compatible with my HP Chrome Plus. I have tried all other methods to connect to HP Deskjet 2710 that failed. Any ideas?

Possibly the HP App might work. It is replacing HP Smart but I do not know if it is available for your Chromebook.  The link here explains how to get the "HP App":  :HP Smart requirements

Windows 10 Redstone 5 (version 1809) or later

Linux uses HPLIP which is in the distribution or find it here.

I have tried that but unfortunately Play Store says it isn't compatible with Chromebook!

My HP Chromebook Plus is <12 months old and running latest ChromeOS (updated today).

Looking at ratings on Play Store, I am not alone with this issue. HP need to revert back to HP Smart or release a ChromeOS compatible version of new HP App.

It works OK on Android.

Any suggestions to get HP to resolve?

ChromeOS is based on Linux or so I have read.  I have never used a Chromebook.

I have tried everything suggested on HP Support and it doesn't work. Direct wifi won't connect and the other options use the App that isn't supported! Very frustrating.

I've tried the HP printer service plug in, but that just leads you to the HP App that isn't compatible.

I can't believe that a company like HP can let their customers down so badly..

I will have to research this and get help as I do not have a ChromeBook and all my HP printers are older models.

Did you reset the printer so I goes into the Wi-Fi setup mode?

Thanks for that. Yes I have reset and reconnected to wifi. I contacted HP Support but still no success. Think that i need to manage until they release ChromeOS compatible version of HP App. Hopefully this will be soon. If you find out if, and when this will happen, please let me know.
