HP Smart App on Chromebook
02-21-2021 05:31 AM

I have an HP Chromebook and have been using the HP Smart App to print and scan documents without any issues. Now the app is requiring me to login to HP services. After creating an account and trying to log in, I get a blank screen and a blue spinning wheel with the words "Thanks for your patience" and I can never log in. How do I fix this?

At this writing >> HP Smart is not supported on Chrome OS.
I've read similar posts that "Yes, I was using it" and "Now it doesn't work".
The problem, if there is one, is that without the application being supported in your Operating System,
I am not sure what to offer to get the application to cooperate.
What?
Chrome OS is apparently not Android - at least not the flavor of Android recognized by the application.

Excerpted:
"Install the HP Smart app on a mobile device running Android OS 7.0 (Nougat) or later, Apple iOS 12.0 or later, or iPadOS."
What else?
Google says
"You can install apps from the Google Play Store and the web to complete your tasks on a Chromebook. In the Google Play Store, discover Android games designed for Chromebooks, like Asphalt 9, Roblox, and Stardew Valley."
Your Printer supports:
From what I can tell, the "Plugin" supports images and PDF files.
