envy 5014

I have an envy 5014.  It was working fine in Ontario on wifi.  I have brought it to Florida.  I have run through the printer setup and it found my wifi and it is connected.  Windows 10 "Add Printer" can find it but that doesn't work.  A number of other HP apps can also find it.  However when I go to HP Smart to "Add Printer" it can't find it.  I have restarted printer and laptop.  I have restored factory settings.  Nothing is working.  I know I'm gonna feel dumb when someone tells me what I missed.  Thanks.

I understand that your HP Printer is not detected by HP Smart app.

 

Please follow the steps listed below to uninstall and reinstall HP smart App for windows:

 

Step 1: Uninstall HP Smart App.

1. Navigate to and open Settings

2. Select Apps or Application Manager from the device Settings

3. Select HP Smart

4. Select Uninstall

 

Step 2: Reinstall HP Smart App.

1. On your Windows 10 device, go to this link: https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/hp-smart/9WZDNCRFHWLH?hl=en-in&gl=in 

To get the app from the Windows Store, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app.

2. Open the HP Smart app.

3. The app searches for recently installed printers.

- If your printer displays, click it. If you are setting up a new printer, it might display with Set-Up under the name.

- If your printer does not display, click the Plus sign, and then follow the on-screen prompts to add your printer or set up a new printer.

I received a reply to uninstall HP Smart and then download from the Microsoft App Store.  When I try  to do the download/install I get a 0x80070005 error message.

After a few retries the HP app installed.  I tried it again and it didn't work but I noticed that after installation it asked me to sign in.....I hadn't.  I removed the app again, re-installed, signed-in and then it found the printer.

 

Part of the solution may be that you have to be signed in to HP app.

I tried to do a thumbs up but couldn't find it.  Certainly wasn't on the bottom right that I could see.
