I print jobs to "HP Smart Printing" instead of my HP 2700 series printer because that's all I saw on the web page drop down list I was trying to print from. I get an error and nothing gets printed. The printer works fine and I can print other jobs when I select the printer. When I go to to the print queue and select "HP Smart Printing" I see a job "Paused". I can't successfully restart this and get it printed to my HP 2700. What IS HP Smart Printing and how do I associate this with my HP 2700 print queue? So thoroughly confused.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

HP Smart Printing is a printing queue - it has no physical components.

HP Smart Printing can be used with printers installed on the Windows system.

Switch to the printer you want to use within HP Smart, the software you are using to submit your print job, or within HP Smart Printing Printing Preferences.

Next,

If the print job in the Print Queue for HP Smart Printing displays a job that cannot be restarted, Cancel the job instead.

Print Queue / Print Service Reset

  • In most cases, after a print job has been accepted, it is turned over the Windows Print Services for completion.
  • When a job is "stuck in the queue", it is sometimes because Print Services is stuck or otherwise “broken”.
  • If the job is accepted and quickly disappears, it is perhaps the result of incorrect Temp folder permissions.
