Hi @AS-BY2024,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Sure, I can help with that! To perform scanning with your HP Smart Tank 5105 printer, follow these steps.

Prepare the Document:

  • Place the document or photo you want to scan on the scanner bed. For most scanners, you need to place the document face down on the glass, aligning it with the corner guides.

Use the Printer’s Control Panel:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the scan function. This is often represented by an icon of a document or a scanner.
  • Select “Scan” and then choose your desired scan type (e.g., “Scan to Computer,” “Scan to Email,” etc.).

Using the HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone if you haven't already.
  • Open the HP Smart app and select the “Scan” option.
  • Choose your printer from the list of available devices.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to select your scan settings (e.g., color, resolution, file type).
  • Click “Scan” and the app will guide you through the process.

Using a Computer (Windows or macOS):

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to your computer either via USB or Wi-Fi.
  • Open the scanning software that came with your printer or use a built-in option like Windows Fax and Scan or macOS Preview.
  • Select your printer and choose the scan settings according to your needs.
  • Click “Scan” to start the scanning process.

Saving or Sending the Scan:

  • After scanning, you can save the scanned document to your desired location on your computer or device.
  • If you are using the HP Smart app, you can also send the scanned document via email directly from the app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
