Hello, I recently bought a new HP 580 printer, but it connects to Wi-Fi extremely slowly, and sometimes not at all. I don’t know what else to do—I’ve searched everywhere. Can someone help me with some solutions?

Hi @denis3232,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Smart Tank 580 printer to Wi-Fi can sometimes be challenging, but here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working correctly by connecting to it with other devices.
  • Move your printer closer to the Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength and connectivity.

Printer Setup:

  • Make sure the printer hardware is fully set up, including removing all packing materials and properly installing ink cartridges.
  • Verify that the Wi-Fi feature is enabled using the Wi-Fi button on the printer’s control panel.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart the printer, computer, and router. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

Wi-Fi Direct Setup:

  • If Wi-Fi connection remains problematic, use the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct feature to connect directly from your mobile device or computer for printing.

Software and Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date, as software updates can resolve known connectivity issues. Check for updates via the https://support.hp.com/us-en.

HP App:

Print a Wireless Test Report:

  • From the control panel, print a Wireless Test Report to diagnose connectivity issues. This report can reveal issues with your network settings and help guide corrective actions.

Wi-Fi Connection Status:

  • Verify the Wi-Fi connection status on the printer’s control panel to ensure it’s connecting to the right network.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
