Hi,
I've got an HP Smart Tank 581 for a whole and painful year. Out of nothing It gets unreacheable by wi-fi connection. I used to power It off and turno It on so It would get into wi-fi again, but from a few days ago not even this is working.
I believe the real problem is at my notebook, but I can't figure out what. I've even stopped antivirus/firewall.
Any suggestions?

@lhoracio, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer suddenly becomes unreachable over Wi-Fi, let’s work together to get this sorted out. Since you've already tried restarting the printer and disabling antivirus/firewall, here are some additional steps to help isolate and resolve the issue:
Power Cycle All Devices
- Turn off your printer, notebook, and Wi-Fi router.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Turn on the router first and wait until it's fully operational.
- Then turn on the printer, followed by your notebook.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
Sometimes the printer may lose its Wi-Fi configuration. Here's how to reconnect it:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the Wi-Fi light blinks.
- Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
- Wait for the Wi-Fi light on the printer to stop blinking and stay solid, this means it's connected.

Reinstall or Update HP Smart App
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your notebook.
- Download the latest version from the HP Smart App page.
- Reinstall and try adding the printer again.
Check IP Address & Connectivity
- Print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer:
- Press and hold the Information (i) button until all buttons light up.
- Press the Information (i) and Resume buttons together.
- Look for the IP Address on the report.
- On your notebook, open a browser and type the IP address. If the printer’s web page opens, it’s connected to the network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Well, just happened again. I've done every suggestion, and followed all steps, but It seems this problem will be permanent.
My solution is tô remove printer in control panel and reinstall it. This works fine until next "wi-fi dead connection".
It is frustrating. It is a wondeefull printer, but I guess I'll replace It very soon.
Thanks for your attention
