Hi! I'm having printing problems with my new HP Smart Tank 585. I have a MacBook. I added the printer and it added without any issues but when I printed, it would not allow me to select double sided. I then downloaded the Hp Smart app, and there, I could not even print. It kept saying preview not available and then the Print button won't light up to allow me to print. Please help!

Hi @levans2022, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP Smart Tank 585. Let's try to resolve these issues step by step.
Double-Sided Printing Issue,
The HP Smart Tank 585 does not support automatic duplex (double-sided) printing, but you can still print double-sided manually. Here’s how you can do it on your MacBook:
>Open the document you want to print.
>Go to File > Print.
>Select your printer (HP Smart Tank 585).
>Click on "Show Details" to expand the print options.
>Select "Paper Handling" from the drop-down menu.
>Choose "Odd Only" under "Pages to Print" and print the odd pages.
>Flip the printed pages and reload them into the printer.
>Repeat the process, but this time select "Even Only" under "Pages to Print" and print the even pages.
HP Smart App Issue
For the issue with the HP Smart app not allowing you to print, try the following steps:
>Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
>Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app on your MacBook. Sometimes, a fresh installation can resolve issues.
>Clear the app cache if you're using an Android device. For Mac, ensure no old printer drivers are conflicting with the new ones.
>Re-add the printer to the HP Smart app. Remove the printer from the app and then add it again to refresh the connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
