HP Smart Tank 6001 Printer offline

This printer works well when online. My network is up and operational. It was working fine with my Lenovo laptop until I took the laptop out of town for a week. When I came back, the printer is 'Offline' and I can't get it back online. 

I have unplugged the printer for several minutes, plugged it back in but would not come up as it has before.

I understand your HP Smart Tank 6001 printer is showing as 'Offline' even though your network connection is operational. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
 

1. Check Printer and Network Connection

• Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the same network as your computer.
• Confirm that the Wi-Fi is turned on and the printer is within range of the router.
• If you are using a wired connection, check that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router.

2. Restart the Devices

• Power off your printer and unplug it from the power source for at least 60 seconds.
• Turn off your Lenovo laptop.
• Restart your router by unplugging it for a few seconds and then plugging it back in.
• Power everything back on, starting with the router, then the printer, and finally your laptop.

3. Set the Printer Online

• On your Lenovo laptop, go to "Devices and Printers."
• Locate your HP Smart Tank 6001 printer. If it shows as "Offline," right-click and select "See what's printing."
• In the queue window, click "Printer" in the menu bar and ensure "Use Printer Offline" is unchecked.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Software

• Visit the Official HP® Support to check for any available updates for your printer's firmware or software.
• Additionally, ensure that the HP printer software on your Lenovo laptop is up-to-date.

5. Reinstall the Printer Drivers

• Go to "Devices and Printers" on your laptop.
• Right-click your printer and select "Remove device."
• Visit the Official HP® Support, download the latest printer drivers for the HP Smart Tank 6001, and reinstall them.
