HP Smart - activate scan to computer

How do i set up 'Activate scan to computer' on the HP Smart software?  I have an OfficeJet Pro 8500 wifi printer, and want to use this save to computer function for scanning.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

Scan-to-Computer is typically part of the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

Unfortunately, unless you have (or can get) an archived copy of the Web Pack installation package that will work with Windows 10, the full driver software is no longer available for your printer in category Software and Drivers and Windows 10.

The built-in drivers provide some basic print features -- this is certainly not the "full feature" experience that is (was) available in the full driver printer software.

Example

Scan documents and photos: Complete scan jobs with a Windows app that works with the built-in driver.

• Windows Fax and Scan: In Windows, search for and open Windows Fax and Scan. Click New Scan, and then select your printer.
• Windows Paint: In Windows, search for and open Paint. Click FileFrom scanner or camera.
• Windows Scan app: In Windows, search for and open the Windows Scan app. If it is not listed, go to Windows Scan (in English) to install it.
