My HP Envy Photo 7855 printer was able to connect to my WiFi network with no problem but the HP Smart app cannot find the dang printer! It is unable to find even from my computer to the printer on the same Wifi connection! Some "smart" app! The instruction for WiFi setup mode is confusing because it shows a graphic of a printer that is NOT identical to my current printer. It keeps telling me to press the WiFi icon and the X icon at the same time to shut down but my printer only shows a different wireless icon and the power icon that is NOT the same thing as the X icon!
My Mac OS Printers and Scanners is able to show my 7855 printer online and working (but idle, just waiting for the HP "Stupid" app to recognize it) on the same WiFi network connected to my computer.
(My router is on dual band connection, not on separate bands for 2.4 and 5 ghz).
Please fix your HP Smart app for not recognizing my HP printer in the setup mode.

Hi @Rob20220,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing a connectivity issue with your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
If the printer is already connected to the Wi-Fi and blue light is solid then I would suggest you to try adding the printer using Airprint Drivers:
Add the printer using Apple AirPrint drivers.
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
You may also uninstall the HP Smart app and then Update software on Mac. Restart the PC and then try installing the HP Smart App again and then check if you are able to complete the setup.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you, at last.
I deleted the old Printer, then added a new one. Then I saw two options: Secure AirPrint and AirPrint. What are the differences between them?
I deleted the HP Smart app and reinstalled them. Do I need to restart my Mac?
Follow-up: Yes, restarted my Mac. Did everything exactly as you suggested.
Then nothing... HP Smart App could not even find my printer. Even though my Mac's WiFi and Printer are on the same network connection.
Something is wrong here.
ANOTHER FOLLOW-UP: It turns out that HP Smart app did not prompt a login account for me to enter! I logged into the app and it immediately connected my app to my printer at last.
So the app is at fault for not prompting a login for an user to sign in ... in order to connect the app to the printer. If not sign in at prompt, the app could not find a printer.

@Rob20220,
That's great! Happy to hear that the issue is resolved now. If you need further assistance feel free to reach out to us.
Secure AirPrint provides encryption between your computer and the printer, so you can print anywhere and be safe in the knowledge that your printing will only be seen by you.
Have a great day ahead!

Please inform the HP Smart app development team to improve the app by allowing an user to login when the app is immediately launched from desktop. This way to ensure the app is still connected to the preferred printer after an user's login. Previously, when the app was launched from desktop, there was no indication that I was logged into the app and no indication that the app was connected to my printer, hence this problem in the first place.
Thank you.
