The HP Support Assistant Tasks app starts and I am asked "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device". I have not clicked on the app it just opens of it's own accord. It does not matter if I click the Yes, No or the close button, it disappears for a second, then launches again, after about 20 clicks it finally goes away (occasionally it leaves the HP logo on the screen which cannot be removed). The app never opens (I don't want it anyway) so I want to either disable it or uninstall it. When I look in programs, it doesn't appear, so I cannot uninstall it. So how do I disable it? I have seen a post about the program being in the task scheduler, but HP does not appear in the list, so really at a loss where to go next. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks Dragon-Fur, thank you very much for the very detailed suggestion, I could not find the program in the list of programs nor in apps, even my Revo uninstaller program failed to find it. However my friend suggested I go to C/program files (x86)\Hewlett Packard\HP support framework\ HPSF_taks.exe"run to disable it. So far (touch wood) I have not had the pesky program launch. Will re-post if it rears it's ugly head again.

"Types" of HPSA...
There are two flavors / types of the HP Support Assistant available.
1 ) Software Type

HP Support Solutions Framework (companion software to HPSA)
When installed, HP Support Solutions Framework is located in Programs and Features
OR

You are welcome.
I was curious -- and I did find (and correct) and odd "/" path error in the instructions.
No matter, of course, and all is done and good.
