The HP Smart App says the installation and set up is not finished. I get an EBA00P0013 error.  I attempt to contact support and HP Support (cannot speak to a real person) tells me that my serial number is not valid.

Any suggestions would be appreciated in dealing with this train wreck would be appreciated.

To be clear, this is for a brand new 9125e all-in-one because HP doesn’t recognize my serial number which is on the box and the printer itself.

Hi @Rod156

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're having trouble with the HP Smart App and encountering the EBA00P0013 error, and you're also running into issues when trying to contact HP Support. Let's break this down and try some troubleshooting steps to get you back on track.

1. HP Smart App Error EBA00P0013 Fix:

The EBA00P0013 error generally indicates an issue with the setup or installation process of the HP Smart App. Here are some steps to try to resolve this:

a. Restart the Setup Process:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app from your device.
  • Restart your computer or mobile device.
  • Reinstall the HP Smart app from the official app store (Google Play Store for Android or Apple App Store for iOS).
  • After reinstalling, attempt the setup process again and see if the error persists.

b. Clear App Cache (for Android or Windows):

  • On Android:
    1. Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart.
    2. Tap Storage, then tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.
    3. Reopen the app and attempt to set it up again.
  • On Windows:
    1. Open Settings > Apps > HP Smart.
    2. Select Advanced Options, and then click Reset.
    3. After resetting, try setting up the printer again.

c. Update Firmware:

  • If you can access the HP Smart app, check for firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes a firmware update can resolve setup-related issues.
  • If you can't complete the setup, try using the HP Printer Assistant or the printer’s web interface (by entering the printer’s IP address in your web browser) to check for updates manually.

d. Use HP’s Printer Setup & Software:

If the HP Smart App isn't working, try using HP’s Printer Setup & Software tool directly from HP’s website to install the printer and get it set up on your system. You can find this tool on HP’s official support page.

2. Serial Number Issue:

It’s strange that HP Support is saying that your serial number is invalid. Here are a few things to consider and check:

a. Double-check the Serial Number:

  • The serial number is usually located on the printer itself. It’s typically found on a sticker at the back or inside the printer’s door.
  • Ensure you’re entering the serial number correctly and that there are no extra spaces or characters.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
