Hi @Dave-Y,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP Tango printer to a Wi-Fi network that requires a password, follow these steps carefully. Since the Tango series is designed to work primarily through the HP Smart app, this method ensures a smooth setup:

Steps to Connect HP Tango to Wi-Fi with a Password

Step 1: Prepare the Printer

  1. Make sure the printer is powered on.
  2. If it was previously connected to another network, reset the Wi-Fi settings
    • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the back of the printer for 5 seconds until the Edge lighting pulses blue.
    • This puts the printer into Wi-Fi setup mode.

Step 2: Install the HP App

Step 3: Add the Printer

  1. Open the HP Smart app.
  2. Click “+ Add Printer”.
  3. The app should detect your Tango printer in setup mode.
  4. Select it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4: Enter Wi-Fi Password

  • When prompted, select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  • The app will send the credentials to the printer and complete the connection.

Step 5: Confirm Connection

  • The Edge lighting on the printer will turn solid blue once connected.
  • You can now print wirelessly from any device on the same network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
