Common problems for Connectivity Issues

While examining network captures we noticed a large amount of data being broadcasted and malformed packets coming from two older HP Printers failing Jet Direct cards and hooked them up via USB, this solved the issues with those specific printers

Now when analyzing the Wifi it's been discovered a number of HP printers are broadcasting on the Wifi even with Wifi disabled

I ran through the recommendations from other users experiencing this issue

-Enabled then Disabled Wifi

-Reset the printer

-Used EWS to disable

-Used Telnet to disable

They still show up on wireless captures and the Wifi is being pounded by broadcasts.

Is the last resort a firmware update?

Hello @Cmac1984, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Since the printer is still broadcasting over Wi-Fi after disabling the wireless function through the printer, EWS, Telnet, and resetting it, this may require deeper network/hardware-level diagnosis.

We recommend directing the customer to HP Phone Support for further assistance. They can review the printer configuration and determine whether a firmware update or other service action is appropriate.
