macOS 11.0 Big Sur

My brand-new HP Smart Tank 516 that worked perfectly for 2 months is suddenly completely useless when trying to scan or print from my MacBook Air. The connection between the printer and laptop is made with icons working EXCEPT THE SCAN AND PRINT ICONS. Every time I click one of these two, I get a screen to SIGN IN (which gives a new empty screen and turning wheel forever and ever) or CREATE ACCOUNT (which I have of course, but even that won't work). Only a message 'thank you for your patience'  Well, that patience ran out after 2 weeks trying.

 

The printer continues to work well from the app of my iPhone, but why won't it work from my MacBook Air suddenly? 

I have explained this sudden problem in detail in this community (ref. 8035608) and asked for assistance, but no reactions at all. Zero. Zilch. Nothing. Nichts. Rien.

 

The virtual chat is useless.

The icon for regular chat brings you back to the same page.

No phone numbers.

No email addresses.

Nothing.

 

And the dealer told me to contact HP.

Provide your printer details to validate its warranty, then you will be given with the contact options and phone details.

 

If the printer might be out of warranty by the manufacturing information, follow below steps to dispute by providing the proof of purchase of the printer:

Useless. Site is only in Hebrew

I finally figured it out in Hebrew. There is an inactive chat icon so no chat. There is a phone icon but no number. When I refresh the page I get after many click throughs to the useless virtual chat.

I have never experienced a bad customer service as HP. Learn from Apple and Microsoft. There are humans answering, they take their time and are professional.

Be sure to change the location after providing the printer information.

 

And for the contact details, as said, these are listed during operation hours, today is a national holiday in Israel.

The support center will work back on Sunday (Sunday - Thursday, 08:30am-18:00pm).

The problem is solved, I can print and scan from my Mac. But NOT by using the HP app, using Airprint now.

Still, my printing/scanning problem is solved, but the HP app problem not.
