Hi @laptopblues,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear you loud and clear. When your HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer says it’s “offline” or “paused,” even though it’s connected via cable, it can feel like your printer is ignoring you right when you need it most. Let’s gently walk through how to bring it back online and get your prints flowing again.

Fixing “Offline” or “Paused” Printer Status

1. Restart Everything

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from power.
  • Restart your computer and router (even if you're using USB, this clears network conflicts).
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

2. Check Printer Status in Windows

  • Press Windows + R, type control printers, and hit Enter.
  • Right-click your HP ENVY Photo 7155 → Select See what’s printing.
  • If it says Paused, click Printer in the top menu and uncheck “Pause Printing”.
  • Also, uncheck “Use Printer Offline” if it’s selected.

3. Set as Default Printer

  • In the same window, right-click your printer → Select Set as Default Printer.

4. Clear Print Queue

  • In the print queue window, cancel any stuck jobs.
  • Restart the Print Spooler
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
    • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click → Restart.

5. Run HP App

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

It did not help. I specifically asked for help with an HP Neverstop laser 1000 series, and your response was related to HP photo Envy 7155. I did what you asked but it did not solve my problem. We could save us both a lot of time if you had a phone number I could call, because I know this is a simple fix and I am just an old  dunderhead who believes in personal customer support. Believe me, I don't want to call you as much as you don't want to be called.
