Hi @dyer29a,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

This mixed messaging between "Printer Offline" and "Printer Online" can happen due to a communication issue between the printer and your network or computer. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010.

Restart Devices

  • Turn off the printer, your router, and your computer.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes.
  • Turn the router back on and let it fully reboot.
  • Turn the printer back on, then your computer.

Check Printer Connectivity

  • On the printer's touchscreen, verify the network connection:
    • Go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings and check if it’s connected to the correct WiFi network.
    • If it’s not connected, reconnect to your WiFi network.

Run Printer Network Diagnostic

  • From the printer screen:
    • Go to Reports or Tools, and print a Network Configuration Page.
    • Look for the Connection Status:
      • If it says Connected, note the IP Address.
      • If not, reconnect the printer to WiFi.

Check Computer and Printer Communication

  • On your computer:
    • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click your printer and set it as Default Printer.
    • If the printer shows as Offline, right-click it and select See What's Printing, then uncheck Use Printer Offline.

Add Printer via IP Address

  • If the issue persists, try adding the printer manually:
    1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
    2. Select Add a Printer Using TCP/IP Address.
    3. Enter the IP Address from the Network Configuration Page.
    4. Complete the setup.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support Website and download the latest drivers for the HP OfficeJet Pro 9010.
  • Install the drivers and ensure the printer is connected correctly.

Restart Printer Spooler (Windows Only)

  • On your computer:
    1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
    2. Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.

Test Printing

  • Try printing a test page:
    • From your computer or the printer's touchscreen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
