Hi @raymob,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Here are steps to troubleshoot your HP Envy printer not working on your MacBook Air running macOS Sonoma 14.6.1:

1. Restart Both Devices

  • Restart your MacBook Air and power cycle your printer (turn it off, unplug for 30 seconds, and turn it back on).
  • After the devices restart, check if the printer is recognized.

2. Check Printer Connection

  • Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook Air.
  • On the printer, go to the settings to confirm the network status or re-establish the Wi-Fi connection if needed.

3. Reset Print System on macOS

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on the printer list (or hold the "Control" key and click) and choose Reset Print System.
  • Re-add your HP Envy 5070 by clicking the "+" button and selecting your printer.

4. Update HP Printer Software

  • Open HP Smart or go to the HP Support website to check for the latest printer driver updates for macOS Sonoma.
  • Install any available updates and restart your MacBook Air after installation.

5. Try Printing with USB

  • If wireless printing doesn't work, connect the printer to your MacBook Air using a USB cable.
  • Check if the printer is recognized and test printing. If it works, the issue may be with the Wi-Fi connection.

You may also try Airprint. Click here

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
