I have been having a persistent issue for several years where on my MacBook Air, I add my HP Envy 5055 printer wirelessly, works fine, but eventually the printer goes into sleep mode and after that, it appears offline on my computer, even though on the printer it's clear it's still on my home network. To fix this, I have to remove and re-add the printer, which is the process I have to do every time I want to print something from my Mac. However, I have a Dell PC for work and I never have issues - printer doesn't appear offline after going to sleep. Because of this, it makes me think it's a software issue. But if anyone has a solve to this problem, I'm happy to hear it!
And note: my Mac software is up to date, the printer is up to date, and I have all the up-to-date HP drivers and software installed on the Mac.

Hi @renyrem
I see that the issue still persists after firmware update.
Please follow the steps listed below to reset printing systems and then add the printer.
1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
2. Click Printers & Scanners, Print & Scan, or Print & Fax.
3. Right-click (or Control + click) anywhere inside the Printers window, and then click Reset printing system.
4. Click Reset or OK.
Note: Once you click on reset any other printer added to this computer will also get deleted and needs to be added again.
5. If prompted, type your username and password, and then click OK. The printing system resets.
6. Turn off the printer, wait 5 seconds, and then turn on the printer.
7. Wait until the printer is idle and silent.
8. In the Printers window on the Mac, click the Add button.
9. Select your printer from the list, and then click Add.
It might take a few seconds before your printer displays in the Printers list.
