@jrb94, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I’m sorry to hear your HP DeskJet 2855e is having trouble reconnecting to Wi-Fi. Since it worked recently, this may be a temporary network or configuration issue. Let’s walk through a few steps to get you back up and printing:

Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

This clears any saved Wi-Fi credentials and lets you start fresh.

  • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer until the Power light blinks.
  • This will restore the network settings to default.

Reconnect Using HP Smart App

The easiest way to reconnect is via the HP Smart app:

  • Download or open the HP Smart app on your phone or PC: HP Smart
  • Make sure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use.
  • Tap “+” to add a printer, and follow the on-screen steps to connect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Check Your Router Settings

  • Ensure 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is enabled (the DeskJet 2855e does not support 5GHz).
  • Temporarily disable MAC address filtering or Wi-Fi isolation, if enabled.
  • Restart your router and printer.

Assign a Static IP (Optional but Helpful)

Sometimes assigning a static IP helps prevent future disconnections:

  • After connecting, open the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) via its IP address.
  • Go to Network > IPv4 Configuration, and set a manual IP.

If the issue persists, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
