I’m setting up my new printer and the first time set up showed ‘Set up’ in my WiFi list, but I must I’ve put the WiFi password in wrong and it will no longer show now even after resetting the router and the the printer (to factory settings). This was suggested by the HP support person when someone else asked the same question?, but it hasn’t worked. 14 people have asked the same question.
I have managed to set up since with an Ethernet cable so the printer does work- but it won’t go into WiFi set up mode or show ‘set up’ in my available WiFi networks since that very first time. It was definitely there at first as it’s in my list of previously selected networks on my phone… but I can’t get it to appear now.
can anyone help/ managed to solve this previously?
Thank you. J

Hi @JS123_,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble getting your HP Color Laser 150nw printer to enter the WiFi setup mode and it's not showing up in the available WiFi networks, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Reset the Printer:
- Ensure the printer is turned on.
- On the back of the printer, locate the Reset button.
- Press and hold the Reset button for about 5 seconds. This should reset the network settings.
Check WiFi Direct:
- Ensure that WiFi Direct is not enabled on the printer. WiFi Direct might interfere with the normal WiFi setup process. You can disable it through the printer's control panel or the embedded web server.
Reboot the Router:
- Turn off your router and wait for about 10-15 seconds.
- Turn the router back on and wait for it to fully restart.
Move Closer to the Router:
- Sometimes, the printer may not detect the WiFi signal if it's too far away. Try moving the printer closer to the router during the setup process.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware may resolve compatibility issues and improve performance.
Check for Wireless Interference:
- Make sure there are no other devices causing wireless interference in the area. Devices like cordless phones, microwave ovens, and other electronic devices can interfere with WiFi signals.
Try Another Device:
- If possible, try setting up the WiFi connection from another device, such as a computer or tablet. This can help identify if the issue is specific to the printer or related to the device you're using for setup.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
