HP Officejet Pro 8600
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi,

Used your solution to download print essentials that updates drive and certificates.

This restored my printer functionality. However I am still getting the "HPDM.framework" popup.

But this did not bring back my scanner which I use more than my printer.

Getting error message when trying to open scanner:

"Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)".

I get other numbers like (-9221).

I know that the scanner before this problem showed up in the System Printers and Scanners before.

Now only the printer shows up. Is there something I need to do to install the scanner of the Hp Officejet Pro 8600?

There was nothing under the "+" sign in the Printer and Scanners under System.

Running macOS Catalina 10.15.6

Update: Can scan with HP Smart which I never used before. Would like to get working "normally" with Scanner under Printers and Scanners as Hp Smart interface is "clunky". Still getting "HPDM.framework" popup and I haver rebooted, shutdown and started, and update to latest Catalina 10.15.7 but"HPDM.framework" popup still shows up. I am using printer via wireless connection which I have used since I got the printer, not hardwired.

Thank you,

Paul

After the third support call that I received for this very same problem, I’ve just begun telling my clients to go buy a different brand of scanner.

Seems nobody wants to wait for Apple and HP to figure out what the problem is. Can’t say I blame them. HP, somebody’s going to lose a lot of money over this. Something tells me it’s not going to be the manufacturer of the computer (ie: Apple).

Figure it out soon. Until then to get ready for a bad start to a worse fourth quarter.
