Hi @Kevin19501

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining that clearly. If your HP Envy 5000 is printing fine but consistently fails to connect to the web—even while connected to your Plusnet router—there are a few targeted steps that can help resolve this issue.

Verify Network Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is properly connected to the correct network. Double-check the Wi-Fi credentials to ensure it’s connected to the Plusnet router.
  • Print a network configuration page from the printer to verify its network status and IP address. This can typically be done from the printer's settings menu.

Run Wireless Network Test:

  • You can perform a wireless test from your printer to check for any connectivity issues with the router. Access this via the printer's control panel.

Check Internet Access:

  • Ensure your router and internet connection are working properly. Attempt to connect another device to the web using the same network to verify internet access.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, computer, and router. Power cycling can often resolve connectivity issues.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check and update the printer firmware for any available updates through the HP support website. Keeping the firmware up-to-date can resolve potential connectivity issues.

Configure Network Settings:

  • Access the printer settings via its Embedded Web Server (EWS) using its IP address in a browser to manage network settings.
  • Assign a static IP address to the printer. A consistent connection can help maintain access to web services like HP ePrint and Instant Ink.

Disable Firewall/Antivirus:

  • Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus settings that might be blocking the printer's attempts to connect to HP's web services.

Check Router Settings:

  • Ensure your router is not blocking access to certain web services. Check for any parental controls or firewall settings on the router that might be restricting the printer's web access.

Use HP Smart:

  • Install and use the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device to attempt reconnection. The app offers tools to troubleshoot and establish connectivity.

Let me know what you observe after trying these steps. You're clearly doing everything right—just a few more adjustments and we’ll get that web connection working reliably.
