I am about to take this printer and throw it in the street and run over it a multitude of times.  This printer status is always stating it's offline, and I cannot figure out how to bring it back online so I can print.  Anyone out there have an ideas I can try?

Hi @Lsnyder11,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It's frustrating when your printer reports an offline status. Here’s a guide to help bring your HP LaserJet M234sdw back online:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the Wi-Fi network. You can do this by navigating to the printer's control panel and checking the connection status.

Set Printer Online:

  • On your Windows computer, go to "Devices and Printers" in the Control Panel.
  • Right-click on your HP LaserJet M234sdw and select "See what’s printing."
  • In the next window, click on "Printer" in the menu and uncheck "Use Printer Offline" if it's selected.

Restart the Printer and Router:

  • Power off your printer, wait for about 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router to clear any network issues.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support page to download and install any available firmware updates for your printer model. Keeping the firmware updated can solve connectivity issues.

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can update them from the HP Support page by searching for your printer model.

Assign a Static IP Address:

  • In your router’s admin panel, assign a static IP address to your printer to avoid IP conflicts and ensure it stays online.

Wi-Fi Signal Strength:

  • Ensure that your printer is within a suitable range of the Wi-Fi router to receive a strong signal.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
