I indicated that I'm using macOS 10.15 Catalina, but actually I'm on macOS 11.2 Big Sur, which was not an option. I'm trying to get mr HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw working. I can set it up using AirPrint, but it will only print one document, after which it goes offline and in order to print again, I have to turn the printer off and then on and go through the whole setup rigmarole again. I have to select AirPrint because there does not seem to be a printer driver available. I was able to use it on Catalina and earlier versions of Big Sur without issues, but as the most recent OS update, this problem appeared and won't go away. Any suggestions? My OS is a beta, but previous Big Sur betas did not cause a problem.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to print.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Are you able to make a copy?
Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.
- Go to https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip and then click Download.
- After the software downloads, open HP Easy Start.
- Click File, and then select Uninstall HP Software... from the menu.
Read any warnings that display, and then click Continue. - When prompted, type your administrator user name and password.
- HP Uninstaller removes all HP printer software previously installed.
- If you are reinstalling the HP printer software, click Set Up New Device, and then follow the instructions to install the printer with HP EasyStart.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I am the OP; I had to recreate my account under a different username. I finally gave up on wireless and connected with ethernet, and everything is working fine. Thanks.
