Hi, I desperately need to disable WiFi Direct and connect the printer to my usual home WiFi network. Strangely the Hk smart app can’t locate it, whatever I try. Trying to find a solution for days now. It’s been just so difficult. We try to restore to factory settings - whatever pushing button combinations. Nothing worked. Please help. Thanks a lot. M.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
I suggest you perform a Printer Reset
- (1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- (2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- (3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- (4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- (5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
- (6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
- (7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- (8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed
Also, update the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-3700-all-in-one-printer-series/8954253
Then try disabling the WiFi-Direct once again.
If it doesn't work we will disable the WiFi-Direct from the EWS Page
- - Print a Network Config Page from the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- - Press the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time to print the Network Configuration Page
- - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- - Choose the Networking tab, then disable WiFi-Direct and Save
Please perform these steps and let me know how it goes.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
