Hi New member

If your laptop is unable to detect the HP Envy 6000 All-in-One wireless printer while Norton VPN is turned on, it may be due to network traffic being routed through the VPN, which can prevent devices on your local network from communicating properly. Here’s how you can resolve this issue:

Steps to Fix the Issue

  1. Temporarily Disable VPN:

    • Turn off the Norton VPN temporarily to check if your laptop can detect the printer without the VPN enabled. This will help determine if the VPN is causing the issue.
  2. Split Tunneling:

    • If disabling the VPN allows your laptop to detect the printer, consider enabling split tunneling (if available) in Norton VPN settings. Split tunneling allows you to route some applications or traffic outside the VPN, such as your local network traffic needed to detect the printer.
  3. Network Configuration:

    • Ensure both your laptop and the HP Envy 6000 printer are connected to the same wireless network (SSID).
  4. Check Firewall Settings:

    • Ensure that the firewall settings on your laptop (via Norton or other security software) allow communication with your local network.
  5. Network Discovery Settings:

    • Verify that network discovery is enabled on your laptop. This can be found in your network settings under the Network and Sharing Center options.
  6. Use HP Smart App:

    • Install and use the HP Smart App on your laptop. The app may help in setting up the printer when VPN-related issues occur.
  7. I hope the above is helpful
