For my HP Envy Pro 6458 printer I was trying to print and on my phone its asking for the password for me to print. Help me.

I understand your HP Envy Pro 6458 is asking for a password when you try to print from your phone. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the Printer’s Wi-Fi Direct Password

On this model, the password is printed on a label on the printer itself.

Look for a sticker near the rear, inside the cartridge access area, or under the scanner lid that shows Wi-Fi Direct name (DIRECT-xx-ENVY Pro 6400) and a password.

Print the Wi-Fi Direct Information Page

Press and hold the Information (i) button until the printer prints a page.

The Wi-Fi Direct password will be listed on that sheet.

Check the HP Smart App

Open HP Smart → Select your printer → Printer Information or Network Information.

The Wi-Fi Direct password is shown there if the app has already been set up earlier.

Make Sure You’re Connecting to the Correct Network

When printing from your phone, ensure you're selecting DIRECT-xx-ENVY Pro 6458, not your home Wi-Fi network.

The password for Wi-Fi Direct is different from your Wi-Fi router password.

If Needed, Reset Wi-Fi Direct Settings

Press and hold Wi-Fi + Cancel (X) together for 3 seconds to restore network settings.

After reset, print an Information Page again to get the new password.
