Hi @BJ0854,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you have a new home Wi-Fi network and need to connect your HP DeskJet 2600 printer to it, you can follow these instructions depending on your computer's operating system:

STEP 1: Reset the Printer’s Old Wi‑Fi (clears the previous network)

On the printer’s control panel:

  1. Make sure the printer is ON
  2. Press AND HOLD these two buttons together:

📶 Wireless button +  Cancel button

Hold for 5 seconds

  1. The Wireless light will blink → this means Wi‑Fi has been reset
  2. The printer is now in Setup Mode (ready for new Wi‑Fi)

STEP 2: Add the Printer to Your New Wi‑Fi Using HP Smart

On your phone or Windows PC:

  1. Open the HP Smart app
  2. Tap Add Printer
  3. Your printer should appear as:
    “HP‑Setup‑DeskJet 2600 series”
  4. Select it
  5. Choose your new Wi‑Fi network
  6. Enter the password
  7. Wait for the printer’s Wi‑Fi light to turn solid blue

Once the solid blue light is on → your printer is connected.

STEP 3: Remove Old Printer Entry from Windows (Important)

Your computer still tries to print to the OLD Wi‑Fi connection.

  1. Start → Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners
  2. Click your DeskJet 2600 series
  3. Press Remove
  4. Now click Add Device
  5. Select the printer showing as:
DeskJet 2600 series (Network) or Secure AirPrint

STEP 4: Test Printing

Open a simple document → File → Print → select the newly added printer.

If it prints, everything is fixed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
