Hi @Lstdream,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 5260 All-in-One Printer online involves ensuring it is properly connected to your network and troubleshooting any connectivity issues. Here are the steps you can follow:

1. Check Physical Connections

  • Power: Make sure the printer is turned on and has power.
  • Cables: If you are using a wired connection, ensure that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router.

2. Connect to Wi-Fi

If you are using a wireless connection, follow these steps to connect your printer to Wi-Fi:

  • Control Panel: On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon.
  • Settings: Go to Settings and select Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Network Selection: The printer will search for available networks. Select your network from the list.
  • Password: Enter your Wi-Fi password and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.

3. Install or Update Printer Drivers  Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet 5260 All-in-One Printer

Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed on your computer. You can download the drivers from the HP Support website.

  • Download and Install: Download the appropriate driver for your operating system and follow the installation instructions.

4. Set Printer as Default

  • Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click on your HP OfficeJet 5260 and select Set as the default printer.
  • Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Select your HP OfficeJet 5260 and click on Set as default printer.

5. Check Printer Status

  • Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Ensure that the status of your printer is set to Online.
  • Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and check the status of your printer.

6. Troubleshoot Connectivity Issues

  • Restart Devices: Restart your printer, computer, and router.
  • Check Firewall: Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer.
  • IP Address: Ensure that your printer has a valid IP address. You can check this from the printer's control panel under Network Settings.

7. HP Smart App

Use the HP Smart app for a guided setup:

  • Download: Download the HP Smart app from the HP website or your device's app store.
  • Setup: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer and get it online.

8. Reset Network Settings

If you are still having trouble, you can reset the network settings on your printer:

  • Control Panel: On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings.
