I have a HP 7000 that I want to change the Internet connection. How do I do that or how do I erase everything and put it back and set up mode

Hi @Trucker4u2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you would like to change the internet connection on your HP OfficeJet 7000 and reset it to setup mode, follow these steps:

Restore Network Defaults

  • On the printer’s control panel, press and hold the Wireless button until the light blinks.
  • This clears all saved Wi‑Fi profiles and resets the printer’s network settings.
  • The wireless light should blink blue, meaning it’s ready for setup.

Reconnect to Wi‑Fi

  • If your router supports WPS (Wi‑Fi Protected Setup):
  • Press the WPS button on your router.
  • Within 2 minutes, press the Wireless button on the printer.
  • The light should turn solid blue once connected.
  • If not, use the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer’s control panel:
  • Select your Wi‑Fi SSID.
  • Enter the password carefully (case‑sensitive).
  • Confirm connection.

Assign a Static IP (Optional but Recommended)

  • Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer.
  • Note the IP address.
  • In your router, reserve that IP for the printer (DHCP reservation).
  • This prevents the printer from “disappearing” when the router reassigns IPs.

Reinstall Printer Software

  • On your PC, uninstall the printer from Devices and Printers.
  • Download the latest drivers/software for the HP OfficeJet 7000 from HP’s support site.
  • Reinstall and add the printer again using the new Wi‑Fi connection

Take care and have an amazing day!
