Hello, I recently purchased the HP Envy Photo 6220 printer.
I would like to print from my Android 11 phone wirelessly to said printer but I don't have a router and so I believe I need to use WiFi Direct.
I have switched on WiFi Direct on printer, but how do I switch on WiFi Direct on Android 11? When I switch on WiFi option in Network and Settings in Settings in Android it tries to connect, but then says 'no internet' alongside the printer name ? That may be because I don't have a router.
I've got the HP Smart app and HP Printer plugins o.k but it is just the WiFi Direct connection I can't figure how to switch on on the phone.
If there an easy way to connect Android phone and printer without a router.
- It says on the box 'no router required' so how do I connect and print from Android 11?
Thanks

Hi, thanks for the reply but it didn't answer my question.
I've since worked it out.
To switch on WiFi Direct without a router on Android 11, you got to Settings, Network and Internet, then switch WiFi on.
You then tap on WiFi, select Wifi Preferences, Advanced then tap on Wifi Direct.
On the printer that is displayed you tap it, it then says 'invite' or similar (I'm typing this by memory!), You then tap it again, wait a few seconds, and it says connected.
Make sure HP Plugin and Smart app are installed, and you are good to go. Just make sure WiFi Direct is switched in on the printer of course.
So I've answered my own problem, but thanks for the response nonetheless!
I hope this helps others who can't figure out how to switch on WiFi Direct in Android 11
