Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you want assistance in printer connectivity, I am glad to assist you.

You can connect the printer to the computer using a USB cable or the printer's WiFi direct without using the WiFi router.

Follow these steps to connect the printer with the USB cable

  • Click here to download and install the printer software.
  • NOTE: Do not connect the USB cable to the printer until you are prompted to do so.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions. When you are prompted, connect the printer to the computer by selecting USB on the Connection Options screen.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions. If the printer software has been installed, the printer will operate as a plug-and-play device.

Follow the steps mentioned on page number 23 in this user guide to connecting the printer using WiFi direct without using the router:- Click here

Keep me posted.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
