HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer

Purchased HP OfficeJet Pro 8720, warranty start date 1/1/2019; touch screen malfunctioned 2022. Still able to print/scan from computer. Just set up/noq active with new internet provider, unable to enter new wifi passcode into printer as well as unable make "cable" connection.  Perfectly functioning unit now rendered useless, whether thru planned or accidental obsolescence on HP's part.  (btw, did go thru HP "Support" at time of 2022 touchscreen malfunction, and again last week with new internet setup - same response, no fix or work around).

Everything about the unit was great, except key element - no longer works because touch screen went pfffft.

Am just looking for info as how to clear my profile info from, then cancel, the HP Smart (lol) account.

Thank you.

Hi @Dave_Was2Right ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you want to  remove your profile information from the HP Smart account and cancel the account, you can follow these general steps:

  • Access HP Smart Account: Log in to your HP Smart account using the credentials you used to create it.
  • Navigate to Account Settings: Once logged in, navigate to your account settings or profile settings. There should be an option to manage your account details.
  • Remove Profile Information: Look for options to edit or delete your profile information. You'll want to remove any personal details associated with your account.
  • Cancel Account: After removing your profile information, look for an option to cancel your account. This might be located in the account settings or in a separate section for managing subscriptions or memberships.
  • Follow Confirmation Steps: HP might ask you to confirm your decision to cancel the account. Follow any prompts or instructions provided.
  • Verify Cancellation: After canceling the account, verify that your profile information has been removed and that the account is no longer active.

I hope this helps.
