- AirPrint is a feature in Apple's macOS (10.7 and newer) and iOS (4.2 and newer) operating systems for printing without installing printer-specific drivers.
- With AirPrint technology, it's easy to print wirelessly from your Mac computer or from select apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
- To view a list of apps compatible with Apple AirPrint, go to AirPrint Compatible Mobile Apps.
Applicable printers
This document applies to HP LaserJet Pro printers (released in 2023 and later) that support AirPrint.
Step one: Check compatibility with AirPrint
- Follow these steps to make sure that your printer and mobile device are compatible with AirPrint.
- Make sure that you have an AirPrint-compatible printer.
- Make sure you have an Apple device that can use AirPrint:
- Mac computers running macOS 10.7 or newer
- Note:
- AirPrint is not supported in macOS versions 10.6 and earlier.
- iOS devices running iOS 4.2 or newer (iPhone (3GS or later), iPad and iPod Touch (third generation or newer))
- Make sure you have applications that can be used with AirPrint:
- Mac computers work with AirPrint in any application that supports printing
- iOS devices work with AirPrint in the following application types:
- Photos
- Safari
- iBooks
- Select third-party applications
