Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer

HP ENVY 6055e previously installed on home wifi network using iPhone. Able to successfully print from my HP laptop printer by selecting HP Smart as the printer: HP Smart then connects via router to ENVY 6055e. But note that my HP laptop printer nonetheless sees the ENVY 6055e as offline. With HP Smart on Mac ProBook running Big Sur 11.0 can select the ENVY 6055e but get error when attempting to add ENVY 6055e as printer to HP Smart; all while MacBook is within a foot or so of printer and both MacBook and printer are clearly connected to the home wifi network.

Not sure; it appears more than one device is impacted.

 

Check the version of the app running on each device -- all devices must be running the latest HP Smart version for that platform (OS).

Mobile Print – HP Smart - Why is the printer offline or not showing up in HP Smart?

Checkpoints

  • For example:  Check network and Web Services requirements if the printer connection is lost when using Print Anywhere.
  • Printer discovery and status updates can take up to 45 seconds. If you are on a cellular or different wireless network, wait several seconds and try again. Swipe down on the HP Smart home screen to force a refresh.
  • Make sure the computer or mobile device is connected to a local or cellular network with internet access.
  • Connect the printer to a wireless network with internet access and make sure Web Services is enabled.
  • Sign into the HP Smart app with the same credentials used to claim the printer on the HP Smart website.
  • Android: Enable location permissions for the HP Smart app, and make sure the printer was added to the HP Smart app while using the same wireless network as your mobile device.
  • Make sure the version of HP Smart is the latest version of the app – all devices must be running the latest version of the app for that platform / device type.
  • Make sure there is sufficient space (about a meter / 3 feet)  between all devices and the router -- "too close" can be as bad as "too far away".
