I'm trying to change the WiFi network on my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301 and none of the on-line instructions are appropriate for this printer.  Right now, it is 'stuck' on the old network and there's no way to change it.  When I use the Wizard to replace it, after I log in using the Device Administrator account, it just kick me back to the main menu.  If I try to change it in the WiFi settings, there's no tools in there to edit the network.

Hi @WayneLU2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To change the Wi-Fi network on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301, follow these steps.

Reset the Printer's Network Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to the Setup menu.
  • Navigate to Network Setup or Wireless Settings.
  • Look for an option like Restore Network Settings or Reset Network Settings. Confirm the reset. This will clear the current network configuration.

Reconnect to the New Wi-Fi Network:

  • After resetting, the printer will attempt to connect to the network again.
  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wireless or Wi-Fi menu.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Setup Wizard. This will scan for available networks.
  • Choose your new Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password if required.

Use the HP Smart App:

  • Ensure that your printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device.
  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Open the HP Smart app and select Set Up a New Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

Manual IP Address Configuration (if needed):

  • If the above steps do not work, you may need to configure the IP address manually.
  • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Manual IP.
  • Enter the new IP address, subnet mask, and gateway for your network. Consult your network administrator or router for these details.

Reboot the Printer and Router:

  • Power off your printer and router. Wait for a few moments, then power them back on. Sometimes, a reboot can help resolve connection issues.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Check HP’s support website for any available firmware updates and instructions for installing them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
