I changed my internet connections. And now I do not know how to set up my Wi-Fi on my h. P 4100 and I cannot find out any information or find anyone to talk to to help me set this up.

Hi @Tasanee,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’ve changed your internet connection and now your HP 4100 printer isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi. Let’s go through a few simple steps to reconnect your printer to the new network.

a. Restore Network Settings on the Printer

Make sure the printer is powered on.

Press and hold the Wireless button (📶) and the Cancel button (X) together for about 5 seconds until the Power and Wireless lights start blinking.

This resets the network settings and puts the printer into Wi-Fi setup mode.

b. Connect Using HP Smart App (Recommended)

On your phone or computer, connect to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use (preferably 2.4 GHz).

Download or open the HP Smart App (available on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android).

Tap “Set up a new printer” → select HP 4100 series when it appears.

Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi.

c. If the Printer Doesn’t Show Up in the App

On your device’s Wi-Fi list, look for a network that starts with “DIRECT-xx-HP…”.

Connect to that network (no password may be required).

Return to the HP Smart App, and it will continue setup from there.

d. Add the Printer Back to Your Devices

Once connected to the new Wi-Fi, open the HP Smart AppPrinters → Add Printer → select your HP 4100 again.

Your printer should now be available for printing and scanning over the new network.

I hope this helps.
