Hi @jat73,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that your unable to connect your HP DeskJet 2700e to WiFi and resolve the Code 9 error, you can follow the steps below:

Ensure the printer is powered on and ready for setup.

Place the printer close to the router to avoid connectivity issues.

Turn on your device's Bluetooth, like on your computer or mobile device, if required.

Download the HP Smart app: Visit 123.hp.com to download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. Make sure you have stable internet access.

Printer in Setup Mode:

  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons at the same time for about 3 seconds.
  • Release the buttons when the Wireless button starts blinking, indicating setup mode is enabled.

Open HP Smart App:

  • Launch the HP Smart app on your device.
  • Within the app, click on "Add Printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Select your printer from the list, which should include "Setup" in its name.

Enter Network Credentials:

  • When prompted, enter your Wi-Fi network's WEP or WPA key (network password) to connect.
  • After entering the credentials, the wireless light on the control panel should turn solid blue, indicating a successful connection.

Troubleshooting Code 9 Error

  • Verify Network Details: Ensure that you are entering the correct SSID and password.
  • Router Settings: Make sure your router's settings allow for new devices to connect.
  • Manual Reset: If issues persist, try a manual reset of network settings on the printer by turning it off, waiting a few seconds, and turning it back on.

Take care and have an amazing day!
