HP ENVY 6052

I have a Hp Envy 6000 series but it constantly saying it's offline and it's a pain to not just be able to hit the print button on something and be done with it. Is there a setting somewhere that will keep the printer from going offline?

TIA

Hi @Christilg1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP Envy 6000 series printer keeps going offline. Here are some steps to help keep it online:

1. Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or device. If it’s a wireless connection, try moving the printer closer to the router.

2. Update Printer Drivers

  • Make sure you have the latest drivers installed. You can download them from the HP Support website.

3. Set as Default Printer

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP Envy printer and select Set as default printer.

4. Disable Printer Offline Mode

  • In the Devices and Printers section, right-click your printer, select See what's printing.
  • Click on the Printer menu at the top and make sure Use Printer Offline is unchecked.

5. Run the Printer Troubleshooter (Windows)

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Find and run the Printer troubleshooter.

6. Check Wi-Fi Signal

  • If your printer consistently goes offline, it may be due to weak Wi-Fi signals. Consider using a Wi-Fi extender if the signal is weak in that area.

7. Power Management Settings

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Check if there are any power-saving settings that may be turning off your printer or affecting its connection.

8. Firmware Update

  • Check for firmware updates for your printer through the HP Smart app or the HP Support website.

9. Use a USB Connection (if applicable)

  • If the issue persists, consider connecting your printer directly to your computer with a USB cable as a temporary solution.

10. Reset Network Settings

  • As a last resort, reset the network settings on your printer. You can typically find this option in the printer’s settings menu.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
