Hi,
I have the LaserJet Pro M404dn. I set it up with Ethernet, prints perfectly. Shows up in HP Smart when I have my Mac on the same Network. Also, has his own email address and I can print with this method too.
But, when my laptop is on a different network away, on another city for example, the printer shows offline. Also, the email address of the printer doesn't work. I send emails to the printer and it doesn't print.
Can I use this printer to print from a remote location?
Thank you

Hi,
Is the printer powered on and ready when you try to print from another location?
Is the printer connected to your network with no change? it must be with internet access and ready to print from a remote location.
I would also suggest ensuring that the latest firmware is installed on the printer and check for any difference:

Hello,
Printer has the latest updates.
Printer is always connected straight to my ISP router and is online.
My printer is in sleep mode when I send a print job with email.
Now when I send an email to the printer to print, the printer displays this message:
"Load Plain, A4 in Tray 1. Or for one sided jobs, press OK for available paper."
This means the email is sent and the printer received the job, but now I have to press OK for it to print. When I press OK, it prints. I already have A4 paper at the bottom tray of the printer. How can I discard this message so it never shows again?
Thank you.

Thanks for clarifying, that's make much more sense why it would work locally but not remotely, due the action needed due to the paper settings, which cancels the job due the lack on response when not in your home.
Using the side buttons navigate the menu and locate System Setup, there select Paper Settings.
Ensure the default Paper Size is set as A4, the Default Paper Type as Plain.
Next, select Tray 1 and make sure the Paper Size and Paper Type are set as Any Size and Any Type for the tray itself, then try printing and ensure the paper prompt no longer appear, then print using email and ensure the remote job is printed without requiring any such prompt, as the lack of response for the prompt cause the print job to fail from a remote location.
Please let me know how it goes,
Shlomi
