Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have a new network and password.

I need to go to Wireless SetUp Wizard.

However, most features say ""This feature has been locked by your admin or the person that set up the printer."

Both of those are ME! I do not recall ever setting up this lock feature.

It doesnot prompt for a password or offer anyway to resolve.

The features are greyed out.  I can't press Factory Reset- Wireless Wizard - etc.

This is for HP Officejet Pro 8610.

I've tried the HPSmart app on my smartphone, Virtual Assistant, leaving feedback, emailing HP. I see this same issue asked in community back in 2014 to present with zero workable solutions.

Every Solution involves the display panel on the printer.

That does NOT work when these features just say Locked by Admin.

I guess the only way to get this resolved is to pay  $19. 99 for one month help from employee or something.

I wanted to call to verify that if I paid the money it was possible to reset it but there's no way to get them on the phone not that I can find any way. By the way my ex set the password and when I changed li-fi I ran into this problem.

@SharSweet, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to make changes to the wireless settings on the printer. We need to perform a factory reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
