Hi @Caliliz,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reset your HP Envy 6400 series printer to its factory settings, follow these steps:
1. Perform a Basic Reset
- Ensure the printer is powered on.
- On the printer’s control panel or touchscreen, find and press the Setup or Settings button. This is usually represented by a gear icon.
- Use the arrow keys or touchscreen to navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
- Look for an option such as Restore Defaults, Reset, or Factory Reset.
- Select this option to begin the reset process.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm that you want to restore factory settings. The printer may reboot during this process.
2. Perform a Power Reset
If the above method doesn’t work or the printer is unresponsive:
- Press the power button to turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and from the electrical outlet.
Wait:
- Leave the printer unplugged for about 1-2 minutes.
Reconnect and Power On:
- Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
3. Use HP Smart App for Reset
If you have the HP Smart app installed:
- Launch the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Choose the HP Envy 6400 printer from the list of devices.
- Go to the Printer Settings or Advanced Settings.
- Look for an option to Restore Factory Defaults or similar, and follow the prompts to reset the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
