Hi there, I have an HO Deskjet 2700e printer, it’s around 2yrs old. I originally set it up with a different WiFi provider. I’ve since changed provider and I’ve updated this in the app. The app shows I was last connected to the printer today as it’s showing my ink levels however, when I try to go in and print, the app says No Printer and when I try to email from my phone to the printer, it says its busy?!? Anyone come across this and know how to solve it please?

Hi @PMo50,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2700e shows up in the HP Smart app (e.g., ink levels) but won’t print, and email-to-printer jobs fail, likely due to the Wi-Fi change. Let’s go through steps to resolve the connection issue.

a. Verify Printer Wi-Fi Connection

On the printer, go to Wireless Settings → Wireless Network Setup or Wireless icon → Settings.

Make sure the printer is connected to the new Wi-Fi network and shows a strong signal.

If it’s still trying to connect to the old network, reconnect it to the new network using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

b. Restart Devices

Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30–60 seconds, then power it back on.

Restart your phone, tablet, or PC that’s trying to print.

Restart your router to refresh the network.

c. Update HP Smart App

Ensure you’re running the latest version of HP Smart.

Sign out of the app and sign back in to refresh printer connectivity.

d. Re-add Printer in HP Smart

Remove the printer from the app.

Use Add Printer and follow the prompts to connect it to the new Wi-Fi network.

Make sure the printer shows as Ready in the app before printing.

e. Check Email-to-Printer (HP ePrint) Setup

Print an HP ePrint Info Sheet from the printer to confirm the printer has a valid ePrint email address.

Ensure the printer is online and connected to Wi-Fi — ePrint will not work if it’s offline or still trying to connect to the old network.

f. Temporarily Test with USB or Direct Wi-Fi

If Wi-Fi issues persist, try connecting via USB cable or Wi-Fi Direct.

This will confirm the printer hardware is working and isolate the network issue.

I hope this helps.
