Hi @DenisaaM
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To set up Wi-Fi on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6230, follow these steps:
Using the Control Panel
Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is powered on.
Access the Wireless Menu:
- On the printer's control panel, touch the Wireless icon (it looks like a signal symbol).
- Select Settings.
Select Wireless Setup Wizard:
- Choose Wireless Setup Wizard. The printer will search for available networks.
Choose Your Network:
- From the list of available networks, select your Wi-Fi network.
Enter Password:
- Enter your Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard, then touch Done or OK.
Confirm Connection:
- Once connected, the wireless icon should be solid, indicating a successful connection.
Using the HP Smart App
Download HP Smart:
- If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store, Mac App Store, or your mobile device’s app store.
Open the App:
- Open the app and sign in or create an HP account.
Add Your Printer:
- Tap on the + sign or Add Printer.
- The app should automatically detect your printer. If not, choose Set up a new printer.
Follow Instructions:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to Wi-Fi.
Additional Notes
WPS Setup: If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can press the WPS button on your router and then select WPS Push Button on your printer’s wireless menu for a quicker connection.
Network Requirements: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz, as some printers may not connect to 5 GHz networks.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
