Hi @pirata1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering an error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 printer, and the display is frozen, preventing you from resetting it. Error codes like "0xb8a84398" can be challenging to diagnose without more information, but you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Make sure there are no paper jams inside the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck inside can cause errors.

Factory Reset:

  • If the display is frozen and you can't access the menu, you can try a factory reset:
    • Turn off the printer.
    • Press and hold the "Wireless" and "Cancel" buttons simultaneously.
    • While holding these buttons, press and hold the "Start Copy Black" and "Start Copy Color" buttons as well.
    • Release all the buttons when the printer's display turns off and then back on.

Update Firmware:

  • Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve issues. Check the HP website for the latest firmware for your printer model and follow the instructions for updating.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • If you recently installed or updated any printer-related software on your computer, it might be conflicting with the printer. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
