Deskjet 2755e

Just bought the 2755e and could not do setup until I subscribed to instant ink program. Then installed it and the information button is lit. When I pushed it it printed a page that says it is not connected to the internet. It shows up on my IPad and IPhone WiFi under my networks in settings. I am having trouble printing when I am using the Great Falls Tribune enewspaper app. I can print sometimes if I print a section as a pdf. Hpsmart print doesn’t work either.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

 

You did NOT need subscribe to Instant Ink to use your printer.

 

Regardless of how it appears, the offer to subscribe is OPTIONAL.

 

Unless you now want to be subscribed, that needs to be corrected, I think --

You should not feel forced to subscribe to and use a service you do not want.

 

Normally, there are consequences to having subscribed - for one, the ink cartridges are swept up into the service and become the property of that service.   This is normal and is part of the service contract. 

 

Next, once subscribed the printer must remain connected to the Internet.  The printer uses Web Services to connect the printer operation to the Internet.  Normally, having the printer connected to the Internet might not be consequential - there are other reasons (besides Instant Ink) that a printer might need this connection.  Outside of the Instant Ink subscription, not having the printer connected to the Internet is normally not a "break the printer" kind of thing.

 

Finally,  you did not mention your device (computer, tablet, phone) or the Operating System / version you are running on that device.  The device and OS / version are important because they drive what kinds of applications and software you can use to print.

 

For example,

HP Smart - Windows / Mobile - supports Scan and Print operations for PDF and Photos / Images.

 

On Windows, the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software supports printing from within Word and other software that requires the foundation provided by the full driver.
