I have an HP Ink account under a business email address. I have now closed the business and I no longer have access to the business email address. I want to change my email address to my personal one, but it won't let me because that email address is in use by another personal account I must have opened at some point. I can log on to HP using my personal email, but I can't delete it even though there is nothing associated with it. How can I get around this?

Hi @PJUK66,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that you have an HP account associated with a former business email address, and you would like to move the account to your personal email. However, your personal email is already associated with another HP account that you no longer use.

HP does not allow the same email address to be associated with multiple HP accounts.

Normally, you can change the email address by signing in to your HP account and going to Account > Profile > Update Security Settings.

Since your preferred personal email is already tied to another account, I recommend signing in to that personal account first and deleting/closing it if the account has no information or services associated with it.

Once that email address is released, you can try changing the email on your business-associated HP account.

Please do not post your email addresses or other account information publicly on the community.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi

I'm an HP Employee.

Thank you, but I already understood the reason I couldn't add my personal email was because it was associated elsewhere. I had a vague recollection of creating a personal account at some point, so I logged onto that but was then unable to close the account. There was no close button I could find. I tried Help but the Bot then associated my exisiting HP printer with my questions and wouldn't accept I had nothing against the personal account. AI suggested I change my personal email to a third-party email address, so I have done that and even changed the name of the account so it can't be associated with me, but I still can't find a way of deleting the account. Where is the delete/close account option please?
